Is this the ultimate wear foundation?

With a price tag of around £30, this newly relaunched Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation claims to be the ultimate wear foundation, giving you 24hr coverage.  Now available in 40 shades, Lancôme claim it is now easier to find your perfect shade.

I was given a 5ml free sample of the foundation from the Lancôme beauty counter. This is a good way to try before you buy so brownie points to Lancôme for giving out free samples! (Thank you to the Lancôme Sales Assistant, Natalia for perfectly matching me up!) I am in the shade 049, (MAC 42).

So does this little magic in a bottle really give you long lasting wear??? I have been testing this product for a few days and here is what I’ve found………

The foundation itself is very liquidity and is build-able, giving a medium to full coverage matt finish. I applied the foundation with a damp beauty blender but you can also use a brush.  It has a SPF 15, making it sunshine friendly.

I found that when you first apply it, the colour looks light, but as it sets, it beautifully transforms to your natural skin colour.  It does not cover up dark circles or pigmentation, so I had to colour correct and conceal.

Lancôme claim that the foundation is retouch, transfer and smudge free. Having carried out a ‘White Shirt Transfer Test’ (before applying setting powder), this product will definitely transfer on to your clothes.

For those who know me, my make-up is slapped on at 7am every morning, before I had off to work.  So I need a foundation that is going to have lasting power!

Having survived hours at work and then a gruelling sweat busting session at the gym with a personal trainer; this foundation certainly holds up requiring a little touch up around the mouth area, where I have been touching my face.

The colour of the foundation did not fade and even when sweating buckets at the gym, the foundation didn’t break or go patchy.

So is this foundation 24hrs??? No it is not, but it does have lasting power.  The product was on from 7am until 9pm and it still looked good.

Would I buy this foundation? Most definitely, yes. For all those mums and hardworking ladies out there, that want a fuss free lasting foundation; this product is for you.

The Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation gives your face life!

Just a little side line……

Whilst at the beauty counter, I did purchase the La Base Pro Hydra Glow Illuminating Makeup Primer and the Ombre Hypnôse Stylo.

This non greasy primer gives your skin a beautiful dewy glow with rose tint. You can wear it on its own or under foundation. I found that the primer did give my skin a little lift and helped my foundation to stay put all day. As it is a hydrating primer, I would recommend this for the summer time, for when your skin is a little thirstier for H2O.

Now a little something for my busy ladies who do not have time to faff about with make-up… this cream stick eyeshadow is for you! The Ombre Hypnôse Stylo has some serious staying power and beautifully glides on to the eyelids. I got mine in shade 01 Or Inoubliable.

Now the tinie winie down side……  As it does have staying power; once applied it sets pretty quickly, so you would have to be fast when blending this product. You can either use a brush or your fingers. I would recommend using your fingers as the warmth from your skin will help it melt and blend.
